Saab to headquarter in Royal Oak?

Will we be able to woo Saab to headquarter in Royal Oak? Are we treating this as a Must Do, I really haven’t heard a lot about it, but hope local politicians are doing what needs to be done to secure Royal Oak as Saab’s new home, and not let this opportunity slip away.

Saab Cars USA is seeking state and local tax breaks to open a U.S. headquarters in Royal Oak once the brand is sold by General Motors Co.

Saab is looking to invest $2.2 million over five years to relocate mostly sales and marketing employees from the Renaissance Center to an industrial building at 4327 Delemere Court between 14 Mile and Normandy. The company, which did not specify how many employees would move, also is eyeing a site in Connecticut.

Snagging Saab would be a coup for Southeast Michigan and follows news that another castoff brand, Hummer, is looking at opening a headquarters in Metro Detroit.
