One of the things I love most about Royal Oak is the city’s diverse offerings when it comes to art, music and culture. And it’s about to add one more cool event to its roster: the first-ever Royal Oak Artist Market Show & Sale.

This event is scheduled for March 4-5 at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market, 316 E. 11 Mile Road, and is billing itself as “a celebration of good art and a great marketplace.” It opens at 2 p.m. on March 4, and kicks into high gear during the Preview Party from 5 to 8 p.m. that night. Doors open bright and early at 9 a.m. on March 5 and stay open till 3 p.m.

So what can folks expect at the Preview Party on Friday night? Al Smith, gifted professional keyboard musician, will entertain guests while they enjoy champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds from this event benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Beaumont Children’s Hospital.

The Royal Oak Artist Market Show & Sale has attracted artists from around Michigan and northern Ohio, and work will be for sale in many categories, including drawing, painting, photography, clay, collage, glass, metal, wood, jewelry, leather/fiber and mixed media.

This will no doubt be a great opportunity to purchase an original item for your home, office, or as a gift for someone special. For more information, contact Shelly Mazur at 248-246-3079 or visit the event website.
