Royal Oak Restaurant Week will be taking over Royal Oak from February 26 – March 6, 2016 and we can’t wait! Over 25 of downtown Royal Oak’s top restaurants and venues are participating and it is a foodies dream. Participating restaurants will feature 3-course lunch and dinner menus that cost $15, $25 and $35 per person. It promises to be yummy and we can’t wait. After scoping out menus for restaurant week, there are a few that we can’t wait to try. These are our top 3 picks for Royal Oak Restaurant Week 2016.

1. Dinner at Vinotecca

During restaurant week, Vinotecca is offering a delectable dinner for $35.
For the first course choose from:

  • Baked Feta – imported feta, pickled vegetables, and herbed pita.
  • Duck Wings – sweet and sour sauce, stir fried vegetables, plum and ginger sauce.
  • Garlic Mushrooms – fresh wild mushrooms, garlic and cream reduction in a filo pastry cup

For the entrée course choose from:

  • Shrimp Scallop Curry – Gulf shrimp, jumbo scallops, coconut cream sauce, saffron rice, and Naan bread.
  • Vegetable Risotto – asparagus, trumpet mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, roasted bell peppers, imported Arborio rice and parmesan.
  • Grilled Striploin – 14oz striploin, garlic brown mushrooms, bleu cheese butter, hand battered onion rings, smashed redskins and vegetables.

For the dessert course choose from:

  • Caramel Apple Pizza – braised apples, housemade caramel, and raspberry coulis
  • Sticky Toffee Pudding
  • Berry Tart – lemon crème anglaise

2. Dining at Bigalora

During restaurant week, Bigalora is offering a yummy three course meal that will only set you back $25.

For the first course choose from:

  • Chop Salad – romaine, radicchio, arugula, ceci beans, gorgonzola, cucumbers, tomatoes, egg, Dijon red wine vinaigrette
  • Risotto Ball – Saffron risotto, peas, Bolognese
  • Meatball – Monty’s Piedmontese Beef, Grana cheese, marinara

For the Entrée course choose from:

  • Strozzapretti Norcina – Bacco Sausage, cream, tomato, black truffles
  • Fingerling Potato Pizza – fingerling potatoes, gorgonzola, rosemary, artichoke hearts, mozzarella
  • Bacco Sausage Pizza – bacco sausage, roasted onion, Hungarian hot peppers, tomato sauce, mozzarella

For the dessert course choose from:

  • Chocolate Gelato
  • Cannoli – whipped ricotta, chocolate, pistachio, candied orange peel
  • Mixed Berry Sorbetto

3. Filling up at Monk Beer Abbey

The $25 dinner menu at Monk Beer Abbey sounds so delicious – we can’t wait to try it!
For the first course choose from:

  • Soup or salad
  • Moules – PEI mussels, curry cream sauce, grilled baguette
  • Seafood Croquets – shrimp, salmon, cod, potato lightly fried with mammoet sauce

For the entrée course choose from:

  • Bison Burger – Chargrilled Bison, garlic trumpet mushrooms, Stilton cheese, lettuce, tomato on a bakery roll.
  • Foi Gras Burger – Belgian Blue patty, seared foie gras, pancetta, goat cheese, lettuce, tomato on a bakery roll.
  • Steak Waffle – grilled bistro steak, grilled peppers, onions and boursin cheese cause.

For the dessert course choose from:

  • Caramel Apple Waffle – braised apples housemade caramel and raspberry coulis
  • Sticky Toffee Pudding
  • Berry Tart – lemon crème Anglaise
