1. Vivio’s Food & Spirits

Why: Ah, Vivio’s! A classic spot in Eatern Market, this restaurant is a go-to spot for a lot of people in Detroit who are after a killer Bloody Mary. Vivio’s offers six different styles of bloody Mary’s that range from classic, to super spicy. We love the BLT Bloody Mary – it is Vivio’s Classic Bloody Mary with lettuce leaf and crispy thick-cut ranch bacon, and it comes served with pickle spear, lime and beer chaser. But you can’t go wrong with the two gun louie bloody mary:A  Bloody Mary made with Detroit’s Own incredibly smooth Two James Vodka infused with peppercorn, jalapeños and new dill pickle. Served with pickle spear, lime and beer chaser. YUM!

2. Lily’s Seafood Grill & Brewery

Why: The atmosphere at Lily’s Seafood Grill and Brewery is reason enough alone to go there but the build your own Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar on Saturdays and Sundays is reason to stay. Each weekend, Lily’s becomes a brunch paradise in Royal Oak and the build your own Bloody Mary bar is our favorite feature. All you need on a Sunday morning is a custom mixed Bloody Mary with the  Bayou Breakfast (hash made up of of Andouille sausage, crawfish, shrimp, potato, peppers & onion, topped w/ poached eggs, green tomato relish and Hollandaise).

3. Toast Birmingham

Why: Toast is a cozy little gastropub in Birmingham with a retro-style lounge feel, live music, great food and a killer Bloody Mary. They have three different kinds of Bloody Mary’s. The Bomb – vodka, with spicy house bloody mix; The Garden – dill-cucumber infused vodka, bloody mix and lemon; and the Oinkin’ – Applewood smoked bacon infused vodka, bloody mix and bacon. Order a bloody with a hearty breakfast and you’ll be on your wayt to a good day.

4. The Emory

Why: The Emory is a hip, eco-conscious spot with locally sourced fare, healthy options and a fantastic build your own Bloody Mary lunch bar. The build our own option allows you to mix and create the drink of your dreams. Make it as spicy or light as you want and add in the toppings that you crave.

5. Grand Trunk Pub

Why: Grand Trunk Pub is an incredibly cool place in Detroit. It is a 1900s-era railway that has been converted into a bar, complete with high ceilings, a quirky atmosphere,  170+ craft beers and eclectic eats. The Bloody Mary Bar during weekend brunch at Grand Trunk Pub is $7 with $2 refills – it is so yummy! Plus, the Bloody Mary comes topped with plenty of snacks like cheese cubes, peppers, shrimp, meat and veggies. It is practically a meal in a glass and is definitely one of the best bloody Mary’s around Detroit. Order a bloody, have a refill or two, and chow down on killer breakfast items like the HillBilly Eggs Benedict (sausage, poached eggs, American cheese, on an English muffin and topped with sausage gravy) or the Breakfast Enchilada (scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, onion, bell peppers, cheddar and topped with cilantro-chorizo gravy).
