Its first-ever 5K run that benefits the arts programs in Ferndale schools starts before the fair begins again at 10 a.m. on Saturday. In addition to more live music throughout the weekend, over 200 artisan vendors will be selling their wares, local restaurants will be feeding the crowds from their trucks, tents and carts; and 21 craft brewers will be quenching the crowd’s thirst in two beer tents. There’s also a play zone for the kids. All the excitement takes place east of Woodward just south of Nine Mile Road through Sunday night.
On the other side of Woodward on Nine Mile Road, the Funky Ferndale Art Fair will showcase the works of over 120 artists whose works that are just as eclectic as Ferndale itself. Many of them are from the area. The art fair runs Friday night through Sunday at 5 p.m.
