Is it possible to check out most of the great bars in Ferndale in just one night?
Sure.
Twenty-two bars will be opening their doors to about 2,000 people who are expected to attend the 16th annual Ferndale Pub Crawl on Friday, July 27. Crawlers travel in groups of 20 to 100 and will spend 20 minutes to a half hour at each venue. The Pub Crawl the crawl will feature door prizes for tickets to La Cage Aux Folles at the Fisher Theatre Sept. 25- Oct. 7. Pub Crawl participants can win tickets through trivia contests, by winning tickets at certain pub crawl venues, and through an online Broadway In Detroit contest entered by scanning a unique QR code available only to paid crawlers.

“The Pub Crawl is all about fun, but it has also raised huge amounts of funds for our local charities, and it showcases Ferndale’s glittering downtown and many fine businesses,” says Craig Covey, who founded the event in 1996 and has managed the event since.
All funds raised through the Pub Crawl will benefit the Ferndale Police Auxiliary, FernCare, the Ferndale Community Foundation, and the Michigan AIDS Coalition. The Pub Crawl raises about $15,000 each year for these charities.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased the night of the event at Boogie Fever from 6:30 to 9 p.m. or through volunteers in the downtown all night long. For information or to volunteer, contact Monica Mills at 248.545.1435,ext. 117 or email her at mmills@michiganaidscoalition.org.
