Kick the tires and light the fires, it’s a Street Eatzz Wednesday at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
Well it’s about time. We have this great weather going on right now and what better time to enjoy street food. From 5-9 p.m. on Feb. 8 the Michigan Mobile Food Vendors Association with the Royal Oak Farmers Market will host the event. Admission is free, entrees range from $4-$8, and music will we rocked out by the Reefermen.
Now we are not talking about fast food with no imagination; this is a totally different food culture and style. It’s edgy street food from some of the best in the Detroit area. Think slow-cooked food served fast. Thanks to the progressive and insightful attitude of the ROFM Manager Shelly Mazur and the MMFVA you won’t have to drive all over the D to find out what this is all about, it’s right here in one spot. Street food and it’s non-traditional culture and interesting food have to be brought into the spotlight so one can enjoy haute cuisine in an urban environment, the street, car or park bench.
By that I mean we have chefs creating imaginative delicious foods served off a restaurant on wheels. So expand your desire to find that perfect mouth-watering dish by stepping out onto the street and make face-to-face contact with the person creating your meal. This should be reason enough to get out of you comfort zone.
The stars of this event are:
Concrete Cuisine
El Guapo
Franks Anatra
Jacques’ Tacos
Ned’s Travel Burger
Taco Mama
Treat Dreams
So come on out and enjoy some great food and music and party under the roof with me.
