I love weekends, because they are perfect for sleeping in, kicking back, turning on some blues and hanging out. Artists like John Lee Hooker or Mose Allison always sound great while cooking up breakfast or lunch. Next weekend though, you don’t have to do the cooking—let The Emory in Ferndale do it for you.

Yes, The Emory is participating in the Ferndale Blues and Music Festival. This nine-day event includes more than 25 bands, plus DJs, at 22 Ferndale restaurants and pubs.

The Emory will host a Blues Brunch on Saturday and Sunday, February 4th and 5th, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Festival specials include Blues Berry Pancakes and Southern Fried Chicken with Biscuits & Gravy. On the jukebox? You guessed it—nothing but the blues.

Bloody Mary bar

Every weekend The Emory features a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar, stocked with McClures Bloody Mary mix, McClures pickles, celery, cheeses, a variety of hot sauces and hand-stuffed olives, served with Finlandia vodka. There’s also $3 mimosas.

Burger and fries

The family-friendly breakfast menu features something for everyone, including breakfast nachos, buttermilk pancakes, an asparagus and roasted red pepper omelet, eggs Benedict, and breakfast burritos.

If you’re coming for lunch, the burgers weigh in at a half pound of freshly ground beef, plus there’s bruschetta style thick crust pizza, salads and sandwiches, with several vegetarian options throughout the menu. Every Tuesday, juicy burgers with a side of hand cut fries are only $5 –your choice of beef, turkey or black bean.

The Emory is located at 22700 Woodward Ave., Ferndale. 248-546-8202
