Sam Roberts Band: Detroit 67′

Check out this video for the song Detroit 67′ – by the Sam Roberts Band.

“Detroit ’67″ looks at the city’s illustrious history from the vantage point of the 1967 riots. This stirring song about somehow holding onto the light during the darkest of days is the closing track on “Love at the End of the World,”

It shows some great images of where Detroit used to be (I wish I could have seen/lived in Detroit during it’s heyday),.. as well as some really sad images (riots, fires, etc.) Oh yeah,.. it’s a pretty cool song too.

I kept hearing this song on the radio -months- before it became available in the States. Love the song…and I love the entire album.

@Dominique – I’d seen the video before,.. but I just heard it on the radio for the first time last week!,.. caught the very end of it. What station usually plays it? 89X? River?

@jb – Thanks! Since MTV doesn’t play music videos anymore,.. I thought i’d throw one up on Urbane.

I’ve generally heard Sam Roberts’ stuff on The River, and I believe that station recently sponsored a Roberts show in town. I don’t recall hearing it on 89X.
