Ready to mix up your workout routine and blast some powerful moves that reap powerful results? If yes, then Plyometrics just might be your ticket!

Per wikipedia, the best way to comprehend this method is that Plyometrics is

movements to toughen tissues and train nerve cells to stimulate a specific pattern of muscle contraction so the muscle generates as strong a contraction as possible in the shortest amount of time

This enables us to jump higher, throw faster, and basically strengthen our entire body in half the time.
Just as the rule applies that when training opposing muscles you strengthen double time because your body is putting more work into it, the same applies with plyometrics or as I like to call it “powermetrics”.

Plyo will help the muscles function better and increase your strength levels as well as your power(compliments of Linda Formichelli/Oxygenmagazine).

It also increases lean muscle which means the more muscle we have the less fat our body takes up!

Here are a few examples of some Plyometric moves you can try, the best part is you don’t need a lot of equipment and some movements require none! Now please note that this is an advanced form of training so if you are just starting out, you might want to wait a few months or start out very light, small movements until you are strong enough to really get into it.
