get on the megabus

PhotobucketWhat’s the Megabus? Literally, it’s a BIG ass bus. The double-decker moving monolith holds about 90 people and operates out of Los Angeles to seven Southwestern cities, and from Chicago to 17 Midwestern cities. And it just launched service to the Northeast out of New York.

Tickets for the Megabus are CHEAP. How cheap? Let’s compare: On this day, Greyhound fare from Detroit to Chicago is $54.50. Travel time: 7hrs, 4min.

That same route on the Megabus? $24. And better yet, the travel time is just 4hrs, 40 minutes. It’s an express route–no stopping at every town along the way. Think you could be more productive with that extra 2.5 hours in Detroit or Chicago? Uh…yeah.

And the Megabus offers free wi-fi. That’s mega cool.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! There have been many times I have looked into taking a train to Chicago, but this is now at the top of my list. The free wi-fi is a huge help! I can work/entertain myself on the trip. Multitasking at it’s best!

I had a friend that recently took the Mega Bus from Detroit to Chicago round trip, and said that the folks traveling on the bus were a really cool and fun group, not your typical bus crowd!
