playing the smartcard

Y’all know how popular the revived Mini Cooper has become…it’s just that comeback, combined with the crazy high price of gas, that has made it the perfect time for Mercedes to launch a little cutie of its own.

In 2008, the company’s “Smart fortwo” arrived in the United States (while retaining exhibit space at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City–it is one of only six cars in the world to achieve this distinction).

Smart USA, a division of Penske (as in race car champ and Michigan native Roger Penske) Automotive, is the exclusive distributor here in the states. The two-seater “city car” is fresh, zippy, and smart indeed, and will only set you back about $12K-$16K.

We hear there’s a long waitlist, but hop online and reserve one for only $99! Or check out the Smart fortwo experience first-hand at one of Penske’s more than 60 Smart USA dealerships—metro Detroiters can enjoy visiting the company’s headquarters in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
